Get items Filter query choice - not working

Hello I am trying to Get items where the 'Event Type' choice column (SharePoint Calendar) is equal to a specific type...  When I go to add the Query, there is no Dynamic content available.  Therefore I typed in: "Event Type eq 'xxxxxx'

Unfortunately the flow failed.

{
"status": 400,
  "message": "The expression \"Event Type eq 'HSE Superintendent Monthly Notification'\" is not valid.\r\nclientRequestId: 69794d5a-4321-45d2-a6e4-ff609d0f19cf\r\nserviceRequestId: 5b0da69e-a065-7000-83e5-cd6d30ccd4ae"
}

Just wondering what the syntax should be to get this filter working.  Thank you!FilterQuery.PNG

Re: Get items Filter query choice - not working

Hi @Brice235i,

Because this Column name contains a space, when Odata is queried, the name it displays is not the original name.

It uses some special characters instead of spaces:

You could use Get items directly to get the contents of the Body, observe what the name is displayed here, and then configure it in the Filter query:

Please take a try and let me know if issue still exists.

Barry

Re: Get items Filter query choice - not working

Hi,

Hopefully you can help on this...

I am a getting a related issue while using filter query.

GrowerName is my column name, and the name Cruickshank is the value that is passed from PowerApps, which I wish to filter by.

The outcome is bizarre because it says the "Column 'Cruickshank' does not exist.

Futhermore, this flow is copied from am existing flow, and only the column in Filter Query has been altered, and everything continues to work as expected on the original flow.

How could this be remedied please?

Re: Get items Filter query choice - not working

Hello, isn't your column name GrowerName?  Have you tried GrowerName='Cruikshanks' as the filter to isolate the problem is on the PowerApp end?

Re: Get items Filter query choice - not working

@Brice235i

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Yes, my column is called GrowerName.

I tried GrowerName='Cruikshanks' as you suggested, and the flow ran successfully.

However, my filter needs to be defined at the powerapps end.

I am using a Datacardvalue.Text as my filter query parameter within PA, which does indeed contain the text "Cruickshank" (or other grower), when the trigger button is clicked.

It seems though, that I needed to enclose the GetItems_FilterQuery in ' (single apostrophes)

My flow now runs as intended.

Thank you for your help
