Getting items from the SP Calendar for the current year

Hello everyone,

I have a business case where I need to insert events from an excel file to SP Calendar . Before inserting an event, I need to check if it is already present on the SP Calendar. If it is present, we do not insert it.

I used the function Get Items, but realized that it picks up all the events in the calendar irrespective of the year. I am looking to implement a function similar to 'Get Calendar View of Events' we have for Outlook, where we can give a start time and end time, along with the subject and filter out the events.

Is there any way to achieve this? Kindly do let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Getting items from the SP Calendar for the current year

Hi @Aish

You can use the filter query if the get items action to filter out based on any particular column from the sharepoint calendar. eed.PNG

Here, 'Purpose Def' is a custom column in my sharepoint column and i am filtering to get items only that have this value as "not set".

Note the space in the 'Purpose Def' is replaced as 'Purpose_x0020_Def' in the filter query.

Hope this Helps!

Re: Getting items from the SP Calendar for the current year

Hi @Aish,

You can use the Get Items Filter Query to find all the events in the SP Calendar, if the return value length is 0, create an event item into it.

1. Get the rows of your Excel file.

2. Add Apply to each action to check if each row in excel already exists on Calendar.

3. Get items: Title of SP calendar is equal to Event of Excel row.

4. Determine the return result of step 3, if it is 0, create the corresponding event.
