Hackathon Ideation

My team is trying to develop a process to manage a hackathon at our company. 
I was hoping to gather insights from MS users to help me come up with an efficient process to:

1. Register employees

2. Generate and claim ideas 

3. Collaborate cross functionally

Right now, I am trying to combine MS Forms, MS planner, MS Teams, and Power automate to help manage, share, collaborate with ideas and cross functional teams, but running into problems on how to set these products up appropriately. I was hoping someone could provide a best practice I can work off of to get me started. Thanks!
