How do I add different departments directors for approval?

Dear all,


I am building a flow connected to a SharePoint List from O365 and it goes as follows:


  1. User submits a request on the SharePoint List
  2. an approval request through flow goes to his/her manager for approval/rejection
  3. the system should find the head of department of this manager and sends an approval request to too
  4. when Manager and the head of department approves/rejects a notification email is being sent to the user cced HR for the confirmation
  5. Approval Status field in SP list gets updated


my question here is how can i make the system looks for the head of department? taking into consideration that the users will be from different departments ? 

I know how to make the flow finds the requester manager only.

Hopefully this makes sense

Is the department manager the managers manager. If so could you look up the manager for the employees manager


Otherwise could you have another Sharepoint list that stores the department manager

actually not. the head of department is the mangers + 4


and we are talking about 20 managers and more.
