How do I close an existing opened browser window using Power Automate Desktop?

Good evening,

I am trying to find a flow that will close an existing opened Chrome browser window using Power Automate Desktop. So far, none of the videos or texts have worked. Can someone lead me to the solution?

Thank you.

Joe

Hi @tucsondonpepe

Try like this

Nived_Nambiar_0-1682103674760.png

First use wait for window element to wait for that pop up present or not, enable error handling as run next action

Next use if window contains action to validate same window is present or not and then click close button accordingly.

Hope this helps

Good afternoon,

Many thanks for your advice. After testing your suggestions, I was able to create the flow that performs the necessary actions. I found out that there are many actions available in PAD.

Hi @tucsondonpepe

If you are trying to close a specific chrome window, then use launch chrome action and select option as Attach to running instance like below

Nived_Nambiar_0-1682044258050.png

Once attached, you can use close web browser to close  that chrome instance.

Or if you want to close any chrome windows that is already opened in machine, so at the start of flow, use terminate process action to kill all Chrome process in machine like below

Good morning,

Thank you for the reply. I added the Terminate Process action.

tucsondonpepe_0-1682090058948.png

And it did close the Chrome browser.

However, the following then appeared.

When I clicked on the x, the flow continued, otherwise the flow stopped. Is there a way to eliminate that message?

Thank you for your help.

Joe

Hi @tucsondonpepe

You have to add condition in the flow to close that pop up whenever it is found.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for the reply. As a beginner, I have used the conditional, e.g.,

However, I do not know how to specify the following.

Can you help with this? Thanks.
