How does the terminate action work?

Can any one give insight into how the terminate action works.  I want to terminate a flow after a time out as I currently get a flow fail

There is no documentation or help that I can find yet

Re: How does the terminate action work?

HI @leyburn19 ,

Hum, don't know if I understand this correctly.

Terminate will stop the Flow immediately with the status defined in action. If you're getting a timeout, the Flow is ending anyway with a failure message.

Sorry if this is not what you need, but please provide more information, and I'll be happy to help you solve this issue.

Re: How does the terminate action work?

Hey @leyburn19

Can you share more details in regard to the context that you are using the terminate action in your flow?

Basically the terminate action ends the flow at that particular point with the option and status that you select for the action. When using configure run after a failed step in the flow, it is recommended to have the terminate action and terminate the flow as successful at the end of this branch that is supposed to run when the action was failed. The terminate action cannot be used inside an apply to each loop.

If you can share more details, we might be able to assist you better.

Hope this Helps!

Re: How does the terminate action work?

Thank you.  I see what I needed to do based on comments supplied here.  I was expecting the terminate to give me a successful flow after a time out occurrence.  Not so.  It does when based on a condition.  In my case which was a test I had a send email with options with a simple 2 min time out to test.  I put a branch in with a terminate that ran if the email timed out.  It still gives the failed message as pointed out in responses.
