How to check who ran the flow

Hi,

Just today i came into a requirement where i need to check who ran the flow. If the user who ran the flow is not the assigned document owner on a custom field on my doc library then it will send a notification that they do not have permission to run flow.

I need to know if there is a way for us to check who run the flow.

Re: How to check who ran the flow

@karl_oliverio

My suggestion is, immediately after your Get file properties action, to compare the column in your SharePoint library against the user who started the Flow.  If they are not the same, exit the Flow (Control terminate action with success) and, optionally, send the email.  The email address, user ID and display name of the user who started to Flow is available from the Selected item trigger in Dynamic properties.

Please let me know if this needs further explanation or a screen shot.

@karl_oliverio :

What trigger are you using to start the Flow?

Re: How to check who ran the flow

Hi @ScottShearer ~ thanks for your help. I was able to track who ran the flow. The field User ID and User email from the action "for a selected item" are fields to determine who triggers the flow.
