How to copy an existing file on SharePoint?

Hello, I am new to Flow, so please help me getting started.

I would like to copy an existing file to another location when pressing the Flow button.  Start and end locations for the file can be a SharePoint library or One Drive for Business.

In the actions that are proposed by the flow design surface, I cannot find any action to identify an existing file.  I want my flow to start with the pressing of a button, not by being triggered by a new file being created.

Does this make sense?

Many thanks

Hi @Meneghino,

The below flow needs two input parameters from PowerApps. Hope this is helpful.

Re: How to copy an existing file on SharePoint?

Hi Meneghino,

Couple of questions?

Are you planning to copy one specific file or all files from the library?

If it's just one file do you know the file path and filename when the button is pressed?

Thanks

Re: How to copy an existing file on SharePoint?

Hi abm:

Let's say that I would like to copy just one file to keep it simple.

Let's say that I know the path and filename when the button is pressed, something like this

path: "acme.sharepoint.com/Shared%20Documents"

filename: "test.xslx"

Many thanks

Re: How to copy an existing file on SharePoint?

Hi amb, thank you.  I must be dong something wrong because I do not have the choice of a Copy file action in the menu.  Please see screenshot below.  What could I be doing wrong?

Thanks.

Re: How to copy an existing file on SharePoint?

Wait, I know what I did wrong, I just need to type copy in the "search for more actions" box!

This is so counterintuitive!  Where can we find a complete list of actions?

Thanks again for showing me the way @abm

Re: How to copy an existing file on SharePoint?

Hi,

The only reference I can see is from release notes.

https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/release-notes/

Yes, It would be good if we have all in page with a single page documentation.

Thanks

What if we want to do this for a whole document library as opposed to just one file?
