How to increment integer value in Sharepoint List using Flow

Hey guys! I am very new to Flow and is needing help on making a reporting Flow. I currently have two lists, SORs and Counter. List A is basically a form where a user has to put in information. The Counter list keeps track of many entries a user has put it for the month and year.

In the Counter list, the columns are as follows: Title-name of the user, Monthly Count, Yearly Count, Email.

I have a made a Flow but cannot find a way to increment the monthly and yearly count. For the monthly count, I was thinking of updating the item monthly and setting it to zero and using a similar approach with the yearly count.

I have attached the flow and counter list. Please help! And thank you for your time. counter.pngflow 1.pngflow 3.png

Re: How to increment integer value in Sharepoint List using Flow

Hi @Anonymous ,

You could refer to the following methods to achieve your needs.

  • Suppose I want to calculate the details of the user who created the item in LE Mail list.
  • Use Filter Query to filter out the items of the same email in the Count list.
  • Use Filter array to calculate the number of items created by the specified user in the current month and the current year.
  • Finally updated to the count list, you still need to use length () function to calculate whether there is an item of the same email in the count list.

Re: How to increment integer value in Sharepoint List using Flow

Hey All

Maybe point out that the formula in the Filter array step contains this:

@and(equals(formatDateTime(item()[Created],'mm'), utcNow(mm)),equals(item()?['Email'], triggerBody()?['Author']?['Email']))

@and(equals(formatDateTime(item()[Created],'yyyy'), utcNow(yyyy)),equals(item()?['Email'], triggerBody()?['Author']?['Email']))

Just to make it more clear on the answer of @v-bacao-msft .

Kind regards

Tom
