How to notify upon a flow error in the email step.

Hi,  I have a simple workflow that checks on an expiration date column off a SharePoint list and sends an email upon expiration date coming up in this case 30 days out.  I’d like to have a ‘catch’ if there is a problem with email, basically if that step fails.  I believe its ‘notify’ but not sure how to implement it.  I want to be notified by email if that step fails.  Thanks.

Hi @landsend ,

You can make use of the Try/Catch block to capture the exact error. It is very useful as it will intimate you if it causes an error in any step.

Please follow below link to implement it.

Hi there,

It's actually a super useful thing to be able to do, and, easy - once you know how.

First (and this seems unintuitive, I realize.) add the action right after your email that you want to happen if it fails.

Then, in your new action, go into the action settings and select "Configure run after" - and select only "failed".

You'll see the little arrow to your new action will turn into a red dashed line, indicating an error action.

You can also still have actions happen on success.

Let us know how you do!

Cheers,

Rhia
