How to trigger a flow when a file is modified in a github repository?

Hi there, I'm searching for a way to trigger a flow when a JSON file is modified on a github.com repository (that I do not own).

The github connector doesn't seem to offer a trigger on 'commits', only for 'issues'.

Any idea how I could do this?

Thanks!

Re: How to trigger a flow when a file is modified in a github repository?

Hi @TimBourguignon,

I have made a test on my side and the github connector doesn't have a trigger on 'commits', only have the trigger for 'issues' as you said.

I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in Microsoft Flow currently.

If you would like this trigger on 'commits' to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:

Best regards,

Re: How to trigger a flow when a file is modified in a github repository?

Hi @GabrielStJohn, this Idea (https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Ideas/Required-triggers-for-Github/idi-p/40296) matches the request for a commit-trigger.

But this doesn't answer my original question. I knew already that the connector couldn't do it and stated it in the question. What I was/am after is smart idea/hack/workaround to get the desired behavior without waiting for the connector to be updated.

I agree that it is a good idea to add the Flow-Idea-Link for future reference, but I don't consider the question answered.
