Identifying what field was updated with "When a record is updated" trigger - Dynamics 365 + flow

Good morning everyone.

I'm trying to create a flow that triggers when any field of an entity record is updated, no matter which one.

I need to identify what is the exact record that was updated to be able to mention it in an email of the kind: "The record xxx was updated".

Does anyone have idea of how to solve this ?

Thanks

Hi @yasminSarbaoui ,

You could use When a record is updated as a trigger, specifying Entity.

Then configure the information about the currently updated record in Body.

Please take a try.

@v-bacao-msftImagine the scenario where I don't know which field of a certain record was updated.

e.g I'm a manager and i want to control my employees and know when and how they change something on the crm. So if someone updates a field of any record I want to receive an email with the exact field that was updated instead of having to search within the record.

Re: Identifying what field was updated with "When a record is updated" trigger - Dynamics 365 + flow

Hi @yasminSarbaoui ,

Sorry for the misunderstanding of your needs before.

Currently MS Flow has no action to monitor whether exact field has changed. The current trigger detects whether there is an record or item change in Entity or List.

However, it is impossible to obtain which field of the values changes, and only the current record or item related information can be obtained.

If you want such a feature to be supported by MS Flow, please vote for similar idea:

Also you could post your idea in Flow Ideas forum, so it might be considered for future releases.
