Image on SharePoint Site Assets folder is not displaying in email template being sent via Flow

Hello!

I am experiencing an issue where I am attempting to include an image url that is hosted on my SharePoint site assest folder into an email template that I created using HTML. This email template exisits within a "Send an Email" trigger in Flow, where the email is sent to Outlook email addresses. When the email reaches the Outlook client, every aspect of the template renders fine, however the image is broken and doesn't display. The url of the image when browsed to loads completely fine outside the email template, however I am begining to realize that Outlook doesn't seem to render embedded images?

Has anyone came across a similar situation? Please offer some guidance!

Thank you!

Hey @Y_R

That seems to be an issue with SharePoint. (maybe because of admin security etc. I have checked in my environment and it does not work so I can confirm this is a SharePoint issue) I tried with an image stored on a more public repository and it worked fine. (it should work fine with images stored as azure blobs too)ert.PNG

Hope this Helps!

Re: Image on SharePoint Site Assets folder is not displaying in email template being sent via Flow

Hi @Y_R ,

If this file is saved in SharePoint, then if you are using Office 365 Outlook to view the mail, using <img src=”ImageUrl”> is fine.

But if you look at the mail in the Outlook client, this method won't work.

Or you can install the office 365 client, so you can also access the images in the email body.

It is recommended to use add attachments to send images.

Also please refer to the similar thread and see if it helps:

Re: Image on SharePoint Site Assets folder is not displaying in email template being sent via Flow

Hello @yashag2255

Thank you so much for doing a test run with an actual Flow. I have uploaded the image to Azure blob storage and switched out the URL in the email template with the blob URL. I am currently awaiting employees to trigger the Flow in order to see if they are also able to view the image. I am very hopeful with your suggestion, and when I have gotten the okay from the employees I will reply and mark as the answer if it works.

Thank you again for your suggestion!

Re: Image on SharePoint Site Assets folder is not displaying in email template being sent via Flow

Hello @v-bacao-msft

I have confirmed with the employees at the office that even on the O365 Outlook Web the image does not show. The reason that I did not use the "add attachments" to send the images is because it is part of an email template and not simply a random image attached.

Your link to the thread gave some insightful guidance. Thank you for you help.
