Invalid value:provided for item ID

Hi there,

I am trying to update Dynamics 365 record when a record is updated in Azure SQL Server. So I have SQL Server "When an item is modified" as the first step and then I have "Update a record" in D365. I am putting in the CRM Entity "Primary Field" as the Record Identifier. However, it gives me the following error each time.  I tried deleting the flow and recreating it. I also tried deleting the action and recreating it. But it gives me the same error. Please help!

{
  "status"400,
  "message""Invalid value: TEST ABC provided for item ID",
  "source""dynamicscrmonline-logic-cp-canadaeast.logic-ase-canadaeast.p.azurewebsites.net",
  "debugInfo""clientRequestId: 527c3d6e-6525-4a46-a102-0220b1593d13"
}

Re: Invalid value:provided for item ID

HI @Ishani,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow's configuration?

Do you fill a custom string within Record identifier field of "Update a record" action as the Record identifier?

Further, could you please show a bit more about the "Primary Field" that you mentioned?

The error message told that the value you filled within Record identifier field of "Update a record" action is invalid. Actually, the "Update a record" action finds the specific record which needs to be updated via a series of string which like a GUID, such as, the 'a27da44d-f8de-e711-810f-c4346bada540'. The "Update a record" action UI just translate it into a friendly name within Dynamic content tab.

I have made a test on my side and my flow's configuration as below:11.JPG

Within Record identifier field, type the Contact dynamic content (Unique identifier of the contact, which is the friendly name that mentioned above).

Note: I update a record of Contacts entity of Dynamics 365 on my side.

The flow works successfully as below:12.JPG

Best regards,

Kris
