Is there a way to convert HTML to Text on a choice column with multiple choices?

Hi All,

I am trying to update a planner task description from a column in the list that is creating the Planner task.

The column is a choice with check boxes.

When I chose one item from the list I have no issues.

When I choose more than 1, the first will be displayed in planner description, but on the second I get an error in the FLOW history.  the "Action failed No dependant actions succeeded"

It seems like it is trying update it a second time, instead of just concatinating the choices together.

there can be up to 15 choices, and I couldn't find anyting in the Fx Concat.

Is there a way around this?

TIA,

Joe

Hi @jaylou,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow’s configuration?

Could you please show a bit more about the error message?

Further, which field of a Planner task do you want to update with?

I have made a test on my side and please take a try with the following workaround:

  • Add a “When an item is created or modified” trigger.
  • Add a “Create a task” action.
  • Add a Variables-> ”Initialize variable” action, Name set to Description, Type set to String and Value set to empty.
  • Add a “Apply to each” action, “Select an output from previous steps” field set to Task Tag dynamic content (the Choice column with check boxes) of the trigger.
  • Within “Apply to each”, add a “Compose” action, Inputs set to following formula:
concat(item()?['Value'],';',variables('Description'))

Add a “Set variable” action, Name choose Description, Value set to output of “Compose” action.

  • Under “Apply to each” action, add a “Update task details” action, Description field set to variable Description.

The flow works successfully as below:20.JPG

Hi Kris,

I am way off if I need to do all the steps you showed in your response 🙂

All I have is an update Task details that turned into an "Apply to Each" loop due the the choice column.

I will see if I can get your solution to work.

Thanks again Kris.
