Loops that doesn't work when increasing data to 5000

Dear Community,

I have a flow with a loop to overcome the apply to each limit of 5000 in order to replicate an sql database in sharepoint.

I got the data from SQL and filter it step by step from a certain range using an index in the PowerQuery transformation of the SQL tables' join (I have a on-premisis gateway and cannot use del query function).

Everything works correctly using low increment (I tried increment 10 up to 100 or 20 up to 200, so ten cycles), but when I use 5000 up to 40000 it makes only two steps and interrupt to 10000 (and there are at least 30000 rows). The test says green, but infact it only made two cicle when it should have made 8 cycles...

Is there any time out or other that may be involved in this? Obviously I may find turnarounds but I would like to understand the problem...

Are those 30,000 rows coming across in your original Join? Are you certain you're pulling all that data at once?

What's inside of your Apply to Each? Is there a call inside of there?

You will likely need @Rhiassuring’s help to get the loops going as intended.

However, I would also suggest using some batch processing to greatly reduce the number of actions & repeated loops. It should really increase the speed of your data copying:

Yes, absolutly certain. In fact I also made 8 separates flows running in parallel from the same source and they works.

Sounds great, thanks. By the qay this would fasten the process which is not the problem I have (infact I make the automation run by night and it should take 2:30 hours more or less, which is far from the limit I saw of running of one automation)

Yes, but if you need to move 30,000 rows without batching, then you’ll need to spread that across several days to stay within the action API call limits of your account license.

Unless you’re licensing the flow itself.

I will try to use the batch option to see if it solve the problem, thanks a lot.

Hi @takolota

I tried and the flow seems to work but it doesn't write in the list. I imported everything and created a list copying directly the excel files and followed the instruction. I also checked in the Q&A and see someone else had a similar problem and it is said that the problem may be in the Sharepoint in the column format but I also removed the columns with numbers and left only a string sharepoint column to simplify it as much as possible...

The message I got in the final result block is the one below, any idea of where I'm wrong?

--batchresponse_c75d30ab-99ed-4322-b710-76ebd4d516e9\r\nContent-Type: application/http\r\nContent-Transfer-Encoding: binary\r\n\r\nHTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request\r\nCONTENT-TYPE: application/json;odata=verbose;charset=utf-8\r\n\r\n{\"error\":{\"code\":\"-1, Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.InvalidClientQueryException\",\"message\":{\"lang\":\"it-IT\",\"value\":\"Richiesta non valida.\"}}}\r\

Do any of your SharePoint columns contain a space, dash, underscore, or other special character?

You can get any SharePoint column identifying name by going to the gear icon > list settings > the column name > and go to the end of the page url for the identifying column name.

Or does the SharePoint list name contain any such things?

Well, as said I left only one column, "Customer", which is a string, just to simplify it as much as possible.

Then I modified the data as said in the instruction just removing the two fields I didn't create in the list (and obviously change the references in the input "List row present in a table" (the excel file and table) and in the output "Send batch" (the sharepoint site path)

Honestly it should be so easy I don't understand where I could make errors...

Do you know if the batch create template has some other flaw?

Do the requests still work if the systems are set to a different language like @RikiVitalets‘s?

Hi everyone, anyone can help?
