MS Word Connector

I hope someone could point me in the right direction.

I have followed ther instructions in thet bellow video and I did a test sample and it works great, now I have to change the trigger option form manual trigger to “ask in powerapps”

I would like to have a button in my powerapps that when the user click in that button it does the same action “Save a PDF and send the pdf to my email form the word template. “based in the selected item in my gallery.

But I can not get this to work. BTW the item selected in my gallery is a Share Point item.

Any help?

Thanks in advance,

oh ok, and I don't know where to insert that code?

I was in this moment trying to add a "Field" in my word document that get the value from the SPL and then converts, something like this, but is not working also.

{=Table1\Matching \# "$#,##0.00;($#,##0.00)}

!Undefined Bookmark, MATCHING

I am testing with MS Word, what I did was to create a table in my word template.

I added another column and in formulas I set that cell to sum(left), I get the correct value but I had to right click and "Update Field".

Not receiving the file via flow with the field updated.

Thank you, is not a perfect solution because I have to open the word document and update the fields but is something to start.

Thank again for your valuable help, you should create a tutorial about this.

🙂

Hi there, just to provide a quick infor here.

I was finally able to achieve this but with a minor modification, which is no the great solution but it does the work and I am happy with it.

What I did was to create additional columns in my Share Point List "Calculated Column" using this formula: =DOLLAR
([ColumnName],2), assign a name to easy identify with my flow i.e "Flowcolumn1", etc. then I have inserted that column into my Flow and it creates my MS word document with the Dollar $ and decimal values.

Thank again !

Hi,

It seems like Ovedrive was acting weird. I have recreated the flow and is working fine now. However I would like to ask you a quick question?

In this particular flow I am creating a word file form a template using the data in my Share Point list and also creating a PDF of the same file and also sending an email in the PDF file. sounds complicated I know, but is working. As you can see I have added two delays: 1 Minute and 2 minutes, 1 minute before covert the word to PDF, just in case Onedrive is not responding, and two minutes after everything is fine to delete the word file created in previous steps.

Could this be simplified or this is the way?

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Regards.

@Pstork1 ,

Good morning, I hope everything is OK!.

I just have a quick question and I hope you could point me in the right direction.

Do you know how to insert pictures into the word template using the MS word connector, flow and power apps?

What I am facing now is:

I have finally my app working fine, with a click I can produce my word template using the word connector and MS Flow. but I would like to insert a single picture or the pictures form my collection associated with an specific record splease send me a link for somebody who has this done already?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards.

Sorry, I don't know how to do that. I know that normally to insert a picture into a Word document requires converting the picture to a string representation and inserting that into the document, but I have no idea how that would work here.

I would suggest posting this as a new question.  Most people won't see it when you tack it on to a question that is marked as solved.
