Mention a user in a Salesforce Chatter post (Feed Item)

Hello,

I've created a flow to create a feed item, however that feed item needs to "mention" a user (i.e. @Anonymous). I've tried several configurations using @, {},[],!, but have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have experience mentioning a Salesforce user in a "Feed Item?" Thank you!

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow's configuration?

How do you create a feed item within your flow?

Further, could you please share more details about your scenario?

If you could provide more details about your scenario, we would provide a proper workaround for you.

Best regards,

Kris

Hi Kris,

Here's the scenario:

We have a SharePoint list that contains info for some our clients (referred to in Salesforce as "Reference PEOs"). When the SharePoint list item is modified and our field "WebIsReadyToClose" is "Yes" we need to create a feed item (chatter) that tags a user that is associated in Salesforce (Contractual Specialist) and contains some additional generic info (i.e. "@USER [CLIENTNAME] [CLIENTNUMBER] is ready to close the web.").

I have everything else working with the flow except that I cannot have the user tagged. It only displays their name, or email address, or Salesforce ID as plain text.

Here are some of the configurations I've tried to try and tag the user:

  • User ID
  • User Display Name
  • User Name
  • @Anonymous
  • @[user]
  • @[{user}]
  • @[{!user}]
  • @[!user]

I'm probably missing it, but I don't see where I can attach screenshots?
