Pasing a PAD varibale to a SQL script

Hi all

I need some help please:

I am trying to pass a variable from PAD to an SQL script that uses the LIKE statement.

ie:(statement in SQL script)    where Narrative LIKE '%123456%'

Lets say my PAD variable is %frompad%

Any suggestions on the formatting required?
