Requested By and From in email notifications

I have been testing a simple approval workflow when an item is created in a SharePoint list.

I'd like to understand if the Requested By in the email is the user used for the Office 365 Outlook connection

In the example I attached, John has submitted a request (created a new item) to Michele but the Requested By is from Andrew who is not involved in the process at all, and is deceptive for the end user.

This is the same email but in the "oroginal" message (not sure what that means, it shows up like that in Outlook)

Re: Requested By and From in email notifications

Hi _Michele_,

Thanks for feedback.

I assume that Andrew is the owner of the site, and John is the shared user of the site. Am I right?

I am the owner of the site(mabel), I shared the site with one of the group members(yanan).

To test this issue, I create a simple flow to send an approval email when a new item is created in SharePoint list.

The flow is configured likes:

While when a new item was created, the approval email was the same with the screenshots you provided.

Though the item is submitted by “yanan”, in the Email body the Requested by is “mabel”.

In the original message, it shows that the emails is from “mabel”.

How about your flow configuration? Is it the same with mine?

I will confirm this issue from my side. I will back to you once I got any updates.

Best regards,
Mabel Mao

Re: Requested By and From in email notifications

I am experiencing the same issue. Is there any way to configure who the approval request is from? It appears to always be set to me (the person who created the flow) where it really should either be a system account, or the person who ownes the process, or the person who initiated the request depending on the process flow being implemented.

Has there been any updates from the Community Support Team?  I have the same issue as well.  Is MS Flow a beta product?
