Send Email keeps looping and forcing me to apply to each

 

I'm trying to send an email on new item creation.  When i use the send email notification when I select an item it forces "Apply to each".  This results in two emails sent although there is only one person in the field.  How do i avoid the Apply Each being automatically added?

Your action "Get email location addresses" action is Get Items action. This action gets more than one item. Due to that, you see Apply to each action when you are trying use the field from "Get email location addresses".

 

In your case, you are getting 2 entries from the list. Due to that, the Apply to each is sending two emails.

 

If you just want to send one email to all the users, then Create a variable "varEmailIds" of type string and append all the email addresses to it in the Apply to each.

 

Now, you can use the variable varEmailIds in the Send Email's To.

What are you referencing from Dynamic properties.  If the column is a  person or group column, you should be referencing Account Manager Email.

Does your person or group column allow for multiple entries?

I'm trying to do a lookup in two different lists to get an email address based on a lookup.  

I used the GetItem option to get the email address.  If there is a better way please let me know.  I've been doing SP 200 and 203 worklfows for a long time and this if freaking taking forever to do the same thing I did in seconds with old workflows.

 

Every time I try to use the email address it creating the freaking loop~!!! WHY!

It's a people field with one person in it.

This keeps just creating this loop.  I don't understand why.  I'm trying to take the manager field and it puts it in a loop every time.  Why?

How do I create this variable?  I tied compose.  

I guess getting the details the way I did just always makes this loop appear.  Super frustrating when trying to learn.  Geeze....

Please post a screen shot of your Flow with more details and please show more of your Flow.  That will be a big help in trying to assist.

I have to agree it does appear that my account manager value is returning multiple items.  I looked in the fields for this test and the field is actually empty.  So why does it seem to be pulling accounts from an empty field?

I'm doing my best at figuring out what to post.  Here is the workflow.

It does appear to be working now that I have the field populated.  It only sends once.

I guess I might need to evaluate if the field is empty.

Thanks for the help everyone.  

I'm still unsure about the empty value and why it would find multiple people when blank but only find one when populated.  

I don't know how to adjust for that.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
