SharePoint Online - Check if the field value exists

Hello all,

looking for help, we require a check on Vendor Name with Invoice number, let me try to explain :

When Vendor Name "Ex" is selected the invoice number needs to be verify under the vendor name, need to check if the invoice number "101" was used earlier.

If the same vendor name has duplicate invoice numbers here the email should trigger.

Hi @Alkindi1222

I created a small sample of what your data looked like with the same column names:

Jcook_0-1603205802375.png

So I have created this small POC using a SharePoint trigger of 'When an item is created'

Under the trigger I added a 'Get items'

I am using a filter query to filter on Vendor name, and Invoice Number. Please note how my filter looks. SharePoint uses a string of characters for the space and # in the column name.

Jcook_2-1603205925184.png

Than Add a If condition. And use the expression length() to check if the length is greater than 0, and if it is => send an email

Jcook_3-1603206037229.png

My expression looks like:

length(outputs('Get_items')?['body/value'])

Is this what you're looking for?

Hello @Alkindi1222

Sorry but I am a bit confused by your question.

Could you explain more on the "need to check if the invoice number "101" was used earlier".

Thanks

Hi @Jcook

Would like to have condition on column Vendor name and invoice number, If the invoice number value already exists with same vendor then send email.  Basically we want to know if the same invoice number is being repeated/ used multiple times for the same vendor.

Thanks for your support,

Omer Saeed Dayani

Hello @Jcook

It worked for me, the only issue was with the column name value, if the column type is dropdown then i need to select the column name with value, screenshot below. If the column type is text then without value.

Dear @Jcook ,

Could you please help me to create filter for multiple field validation, earlier we were only validating Vendor name + Invoice#1. Now we require to check vendor name + Invoice#1, 2, 3 ,4 and 5.

Alkindi1222_1-1608800522155.png

I have total five invoices field and one field for vendor name. For instance:

  • If vendor name 'ABC' and invoice#1 '055211
  • Now another item with same vendor 'ABC' and field is invoice#2 '055211', same applies to invoice#3,4 and 5 with Vendor name. So what we need is that the invoice number value '055211' in five fields should not be equal with vendor name 'ABC'.

Hope I was able to explain.

Thanks,

Omer Saeed Dayani
