Sharepoint permissions required for Flow to Show in a library

I have a Flow and have given permissions to a sharepoint list to be a run-only user.

The flow trigger is for a selected item.

If I give a user the default Edit permissions in sharepoint the Flow shows in the dropdown when an item is selected.  Works Great.

Now if I modify the sharepoint permissions and remove Manage Lists, Delete Versions, and Browse Directories the Flow no longer shows up.   Change the permission level of the group back to the default edit permissions it shows up.   The odd thing is if I change the new permission level to match the original edit permissions the flow still does not show up.   I have tried different browsers and still have the same issue.

The permission levels are set in a parent Sharepoint site, so not sure if that has anything to do with the issue.

Has anyone seen this or know of a workaround?  I really don't want users to have full edit permissions on the sharepoint list.

Re: Sharepoint permissions required for Flow to Show in a library

@Brian2M:

I was able to replicatre your issue by doing the following:

  1. Created a Flow that uses the "For a requested item" trigger
  2. Verified that a user in the Members group could see and execute the Flow
    1. Members group has defaul Edit permissions
  3. Changed the permissions for the Members group to contribute
    1. User in Members group could not see the Flow in the Flow dropdown menu
  4. Changed the Memebers permissions back to Edit
    1. User in Members group could once again see and execute the Flow

I don't know if you would call this a bug or not, but it is certainly something that should be changed.  I will add this as a "Flow Idea"

Thanks for submitting the idea.   I noticed you have "However, users with Contribute access can see the Flow in the Flow dropdown menu." That should be can't see the Flow.
