Transfer File from Sharepoint List to another Sharepoint List

Hello there,

I have a To-do List in Sharepoint and everytime when I set a To-do as "completed" I would like to transfer the whole file to another List which is the Archive for the To-Do`s.

it would be awsome to get some help from you guys.

Hi Joel,

You would want to create a flow that actions on when an item or file is modified connect your site and select the list.

Next add a condition you would select your column from the dynamic content set is equal to and then match your choice of completed.

In the yes column you would then have create item this would be where your archive is and select your archive list. Populate each column with dynamic content matching you when an item is modified.

Finally to delete the original item you would select the original site and list and when selecting the ID ensure it is the ID for when an item or a file is modified and not create item.

Hey Ed,

 thx a lot for your response and your help.

Sadly I still don`t get it right still.

1. Ive made the described First Step form you.

For the File I chose the whole List.

There are some things which occure like attachments, but I dont know wether to take it or not.

2. After that I set the Status Value to "completed".

3. Here again im not sure what to pick for the File Name and the File Content.

Shall I use only the ID or take every point, like the title etc.

This is the List where I want to transfer the done task from to the second List ( To-do-archive)

Also can u maybe tell me where to get the ID from?

Hi Joel,

In your archive section it says folder path, you will need to select the list have you selected create file instead of create item? it will then list each column that is where you would enter the dynamic content individually for each one.

Once you have the list it will look like this:

It will be empty and you match the dynamic content.

thx Ed you are right, ive changed it and set it to create Item ( In german it says Element )

Though I have to fill in some other Infos.

Like here I have to type in the Info I actually want to be tranfered.

Though it is like creating an Element.

Is it nevertheless right?

You now go through and add your dynamic content:

If its a choice column then you would select total value instead of total, if its just single line of text then just select total for instance.

Now its working:

My last question I have is about the delete Item section.

I can choose now the ID. I am a bit afraid that it will not delete the right element.

Is this ID automaticaly connected to the element that was transfered?

So If I pick it that it will delete the right Element?

The ID you want is the original one. When an item is modified.

If that all works can you please accept as resolved and then it will stop it from showing as open 🙂
