Update file properties failed when a new file created is not closed

Hi Guys,

My Flow is simply to approve a purchase order. It has a trigger of "When a file is created (properties only)".  Then it has action of Approval. Finally "Update file properties" action.

The problem is when a new file is created, and it is not closed (open with word online, the tab browser is not closed), then the action of "Update file properties" fails, with the following error message:

This will cause a user-friendly problem when educating the users that they have to close a file immediately after creating one. Hope closing the file is faster then someone clicks the Approval action, because when the file is still open, then someone clicks the Approval action, then the following action "Update file properties" will fail.

Hi @deddyandy,

Yes, as you said, the "Update file properties" action would run failed if the file is not closed.

You could consider add a "Delay" action with some minutes delay before the approval, and please make sure you would have close the file in those minutes.

I didn't know there is such action. Now the flow has a time to wait until users finish filling out the form.
