Hi,
I'm trying to create a Flow for a document library which can be started manually. As per my knowledge I should use the For a selected item trigger, on which the description says it can be used on Lists and Libraries. But when I select this trigger and provide the site address, no libraries are shown. Lists are shown though.
If I just look at the name of the trigger, I would expect it only works for lists. It says For a selected item, so it does make sense. But the description of this trigger tells me otherwise (and the and I don't see a trigger named For a selected file.
I did some research on the internet, but couldn't find any helpfull information on this specific topic. Hopefully one of you guys can help me.
Many thanks in advance for any effort and time spend on helping me.
All the best,
Quincy Thomas

Hi Michael,
I tried this initially as well, but it didn't work for me. It doesn't recognize the library in that way. Even though the description of the action tells otherwise, it doesn't seem to work for libraries. I posted the issue on TechCommunity as well, and John Aage Andersen came with a workaround which works. Though it is a workaround and an actual solution, it fits my needs.
You can find his asnwer in this thread: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/PowerApps-Flow/Use-For-a-selected-item-on-a-file/m-p/102052
Thanks for the effort and response.

Hi @quincyt,
Take a try to manually type the Library name in the List name field, then save the action to check.

Michael

Hi Quincy
I am having the same problem. And eventhough I typed the name of my library I still can not start the flow manually from the library. I can not open the link . Could you share your workaround?
Thank you
Beilul
I understand from the explanation in this topic that it should be able to use the "For a selected item' trigger in a document library by adding the documentlibrary name as a "custom value" in the List Name field.
This does however not work for me.
Can anyone advise if there is another work around to use this functionality on a document library. As this issue is flagged as resolved, I assume there is a work around.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Try entering the name of the Document Library into the custom field.
For example if you are using with the Out of the Box Shared Document Library i.e. <tenant sites>/sites/<site>/Shared%20Documents/ then it's name is Documents. Enter its name in the custom field
Hi,
You should use "For a selected file.
The problem right now that you run, it's not visible on the library.
There is another solution for this I have used.
Go to the document library settings and copy the number in the URL that displayes between "%7B" and "%7D",
e.g. 58fe5600-3d33-4341-82ec-66456619e457 from the url: https://companyname.sharepoint.com/sites/sitename/_layouts/15/listedit.aspx?List=%7B58fe5600-3d33-4341-82ec-66456619e457%7D
In the List name, select "Enter Custom Value" and paste the number in.
