Using a shared eamil box and calendar

HI All,

I was hanging out with the FLOW team yesterday, and it was a great webinar.  Lots of great info!!

I asked how to send emails and create an Outlook event from a different account than the owner of the FLOW, they suggested a Shared Email.

I was able to use the "Send from Shared mail" task, but I can't figure out how to create a an outlook event from a shared mailbox.

Does anyone (maybe one of the team members?) know how to do this?

I am also waiting for an answer on:

Is there a centralized location for a SharePoint Admin to see all FLOWS created in their SP online environment?

TIA,

Joe

Re: Using a shared eamil box and calendar

I think I have my solution.....

I was able to add another owner and had him take over the create Event step, and now he is the organizer.

This is an OK solution for this list, at least I can make the head of the department the organizer.

Not the best solution, but I am sure FLOW Dev team will take care of this...FLOW really needs to allow us to set the organizer

Programmatically.

Re: Using a shared eamil box and calendar

Hi @jaylou,

Do you want to create a Outlook event from a Shared mailbox?

Further, do you want to see all flows created in your SharePoint Online environment?

If you want to create a Outlook event from a Shared mailbox, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in Microsoft Flow currently. Creating an Outlook event (using the "Create event (V2)" action) within Microsoft Flow is based on connections. In other words, if user A creates a connection to the "Create event (V2)" action, it will create an event in User A's Outlook calendar,  if user B creates a connection to the "Create event (V2)" action, it will create an event in User B's Outlook calendar.

There is no way to create a connection to the "Create event (V2)" action based on a Shared email address in Microsoft Flow currently. If you would like this feature to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Ideas/idb-p/FlowIdeas

In addition, there is no way to see all Flows created in a SharePoint Online Environment for a SharePoint Admin currently.

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Using a shared eamil box and calendar

Hi Kris,

2 BOOS & Hisses for FLOW 😞

I will add both in the FLOW ideas :)...

Since the events organizer is the owner of the FLOW, is there a way for me to create a FLOW and then give ownership to someone else?  If I just add another owner, I am still the organizer of the events, and it seems that since I am the creator, i can't remove myself from the ownership.

Thanks again,

Joe
