What trigger should i use?

Hi,

I have created a flow that checks the Due date 5/10 days before.  I work with a calculated date column and here is my problem. When i use the compose function, i dont know the correct trigger. I need to use the compose function so i can convert the calculated column. My flow runs perfect with a normal date column.

Here is the flow with the date column: Dateflow.png

formatDateTime(item()?['Datecheck'],'yyyy-MM-dd') is equal to adddays(utcnow('yyyy-MM-dd'),5, 'yyyy-MM-dd')
This works perfect. 5 days before the due date, the reminder is sent.

How can i fix this with a calculated column?
In my other flow, i convert a calculated column to date column but the trigger is not right. I only need to send the reminder once per day with the Recurrence trigger.

Re: What trigger should i use?

Hi @Wackmack88 ,

Please try to use the following method.

  • Use Condition to filter Files according to the calculated column.
  • Then append the filtered file information to the array variable.
  • Finally, relying on variables to configure the HTML table, you could consider using the length() function to determine whether the variable is empty, if it is empty, then do not send mail.

Hope it helps.

@Wackmack88

My suggestion is as follows:

  • Emliminate the condition and compose actions in favor of a filter query
  • Since calculated columns cannot be used in the filter query, account for the calculation and use the original date column.

By using a filter query, only the items that meet your requirement will be returned - no need for the condition.

In my Example, I have a date column called MyDate.  I have a calculated date column that adds 5 days to to MyDate.  If I want the email to go out 10 days before the due date, I would want to add 5 days to utcNow (10 days less 5 days).  See my Example Below.
