assign approval based on value in field for document discipline

I am trying to assign a document approval based on a value in a document column for document discipline and I can find no way of doing this, can it be done easily?

Hi @Anonymous,

You can attach the document as the attachment in email, but if you want to extract the column from the document to the email body, then I think this cannot be achieved so far in flow.

You could post this idea in the Flow Ideas forum, so it might be considered for future releases.

I have realised that I didn't describe my needs sufficiently - I have a 'drop zone folder' where team members can upload documents for review based on the document discipline. What I want to do is trigger an approval flow when a new document is uploaded, the routing for the approval is based on the value for the document discipline.

e.g. if a document is upoaded with the discipline 'Project Management' it will be routed to approver A, if a document is uploaded with the discipline 'Contract Management it will be routed to Approver B and so on for 6 different disciplines.

So in the flow is it possible to retireve the value in a particular field and based on the value route the document to the appropriate reviewer? thanks
