cannot be evaluated because array index '1' is outside bounds (0, 0) of array

Hi @Paulie-M ,

From the instructions in video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwRKWaTnl3U,  i am able to convert a HTML table but i am stuck on last step (Video time stamp at 15.17 ).

In Select action after filter array, the first mapped row is coming with split expression - split(item(),'^')[0]

but the row value is not coming using split(item(),'^')[1] and so on till [4]

I am getting error 'cannot be evaluated because array index '1' is outside bounds (0, 0) of array'

Can you please help at the latest possible. Let me know if more information is required. thanks in advance

this is the filter array output.

the additional/last line in the html to text output was causing the trouble. Which i replaced with null and it worked fine.

@Nimit-Jain  as per the video, have you added the ReplaceTD action and its expression correctly, because you are having issue where split with a carat (^) is not returning any elements for you. I hope you have similar table structure with Table, tr, td, in your html.

Thanks @annajhaveri  for getting back,

yes i have a similar structure of TD and TR. I have followed all steps in that video including steps of replacing td (with carat ^) and tr (with pipe |). I am getting all correct output at each step. Its just the last one i am stuck at.

this is the output from filter array with ^, now i have to split it in select action using expression split(item(),'^')[0]

for split(item(),'^')[0], its working. for split(item(),'^')[1] and so on is not working.

@Nimit-Jain - can you show the code you added to replace the additional/last line with null? I am having the same exact issue you mentioned in your post.

Thanks,

Bill

Hi @b_benn1983 ,

i had a fixed text in last line of the output after replacing tr and td so i replace it with a null in an additional step.

1. I added another compose -> output of previous (after tr and td)

2. Used expression 'replace(outputs('Compose_8'),'text','')

and then next step is to convert html to text.

if you are follwoing the same video, after html to text, we will remove null so i only left with desired output.

Let me know if this works for you.

Hi @Nimit-Jain , Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I added a compose after the ReplaceTD step (yes, I am following the video exactly) and my select statement still gives me the below message. I also added a screenshot of that section of my flow. I probably did something wrong, any suggestions?

InvalidTemplate. The execution of template action 'Select' failed: The evaluation of 'query' action 'where' expression '{ "File": "@split(item(), '^')[0]", "Recv'd": "@split(item(), '^')[1]", "Matched": "@split(item(), '^')[2]" }' failed: 'The template language expression 'split(item(), '^')[1]' cannot be evaluated because array index '1' is outside bounds (0, 0) of array. Hi @b_benn1983 , in this experssion replace(outputs('Compose_8'),'text','')

text is something that was part of my email appearning in the last line of email. for example text was thank you

now the expression became replace(outputs('Compose_8'),'thank you','')

please find the text  in your email (hopefully its text only) and replace it with null and it should work.

in my case this text that i referred to above is static thus i could use it in expression.

@Nimit-Jain - I replaced the 'text' with 'Non updated key information is in ABCDE', so the full expression is replace(outputs('ReplaceTD'),'Non updated key information is in DQTKIP','') and still getting the error message in the select step.

Hi @b_benn1983 , is it possible for you to share the output after td/tr replace...before HTML to text (without replace expression discussed above)

Hi @Nimit-Jain  - I have attached a screenshot of my flow and the output before HTML to text below. Hope you had a good holiday break!

Hi @b_benn1983 ,

Hope you have a great holiday break!

can you try using this formula replace(outputs('Compose_8'),'Non updated key information is in DQTKIP.','') as we discussed earlier before html to text and then run the flow.

Hi @Nimit-Jain - I have rerun the flow with the

replace(outputs('ReplaceTD'),'Non updated key information is in DQTKIP','')

Hi @b_benn1983 ,

looks like the flow ran successfully now.

Hi @Nimit-Jain - Yes, that was ok. The failure was at the end when attempting to add that output to an excel file. I have the excel file all set up on my one drive ready to be added, but I am having issues getting the output below into rows and exported to excel.

b_benn1983_0-1641302059827.png

I would like it to just export to look like this

b_benn1983_1-1641303911145.png

Any suggestions?

you can try something like this,

@Nimit-Jain Do you possibly have a solution for only selecting the first few rows of a table before step HTML to text?

I've followed the same video as you guys, had the same issues originally which led me here. I've removed text at the bottom of email but I'm still getting the sinister error. I think it might be an issue with table in the email as this is how it looks like:

KasiaW_0-1643108125835.png

I'm only interested in getting detail from highlighted rows.

Hope this makes sense?

Thanks,

K
