fill out specific cell in Excel from Sharepoint

Hello everybody

Is it possible to fill out specific Excel cells (for example "E8" cell) from  some SharePoint Library data?

(I want to fill out a new Excel template each time a new file is created in the SharePoint Library.)

Any help would be very helpful! Thank you in advance for your help!

best regards

Hi @Alexx1 ,

Is the cell within a table in the Excel workbook?

If it's within a table, maybe you can give it a try with the Update a row action of the Excel Online (Business) connector: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/connectors/excelonlinebusiness/#update-a-row

If the cell is not within a table, you can probably take a look at the new "Run script" action, where you can execute some Office Scripts to update any cell you want.

The script needs to be first created in Excel Online. Here is a possible script that could be used here:

function main(workbook: ExcelScript.Workbook, value: string) {
  let sheet = workbook.getWorksheet("Sheet1");
  let cell = sheet.getRange("E8");
  cell.setValue(value);
}

A few links to learn more about the Run script action and Office Scripts in general:

Hope this helps!
