Dynamics CRM Duplicate detection rules ignored for Flow Created Records

I have a Microsoft Flow that fires when a Dynamics for Financials Sales Order (Record has be modified) has changed and creates a record in D365 CRM. However this as you know would created a duplicate record in CRM. We want to not allow duplicates in CRM so we have created and tested a simple Duplicate Detection Rule in CRM. (which works when run manually, and config of crm states run during all possible events Import/Code etc.)

However Flow seems to somehow bypass all of the settings and causes a duplicate record in CRM.

Re: Dynamics CRM Duplicate detection rules ignored for Flow Created Records

Hi devman2k,

I assume that you are using the trigger “Dynamics 365 for Financials – When a record is modified”.

After the trigger, please try to add an action “Dynamics 365 – List records” and a Condition in your flow.

Then you may configure the Condition to if two dynamic contents contain a common value, do nothing, if not, create a new record in CRM.

Please have a try with it. I guess that by adding a Condition in your flow will be able to stop creating duplicate records in CRM.

Hope this could be a reference for you.
