The Microsoft flow approval timeout does not produce any error for users on timeout as is documented. If you set a timeout on the approval flow, the user who was assigned the flow approval will still see the approve/reject buttons in the original email as though the flow never timed out.
No response can be captured if they try to approve obviously as the flow has timed out. Can we please have an error message to confirm to a user that their flow approval is timed out if they try to click on the flow email and prevent them from being able to try to approve/reject.
I have used a manual trigger and the flow approval - Start and wait for an approval action.
It would be great if this bug could be fixed soon. Thanks.
Hi @awatkins ,
I suggest that you could submit the ideas to flow idea forum so the approval timeout function may be added in the future releases:

Thanks Alice,
I've logged an idea for this. I believe it is standard behaviour for 30 day timeout but does not seem to give any error message if you customise the timeout to under 30 days.
