Flow not Triggering (Sharepoint Modified)

I have a flow that is connected to a large, heavily used Sharepoint O365 List. Up until late last week (I believe it was 5/25/17 around 2:30pm-ish), it worked like a dream. 100% success. 


The flow is designed to pick up modified items, do a check against a "Status" field, and based on that, either send an email or skip. Due to the fact that I'm statusing, and on each status change I save the item, it kicks off multiple flows per item. I have 3 statuses, New, In Progress, and Completed. When it gets moved to Completed, it sends the emails.


Like I said, up until last Thursday, it worked like a dream. It would trigger on both in progress and completed, and run the whole flow on completed. A+. Well, silly ol' me introduced a second, smaller workflow on the same list to test something, as opposed to messing with my perfect child. Thats when the problems started. 


I noticed my new flow only triggered about 2/3rds of the time. It would detect the "In Progress" save, but then never detect the "Completed" save. It wasnt erroring out, flows just was NOT triggering. Unfortunately, the trend has spread to my heavily used email workflow. 


To get a sample size, I scrolled through my email to see what my sent box looked like. In 2 days and a few hours this morning, there have been a total of 337 items "Completed". Of those 337, ONLY 215 have triggered on the modify containing the "Completed". Thats a 64% success rate folks. Thats TERRIBLE


Here is what I have done to troubleshoot so far:

  1. Deleted the second, smaller flow
  2. Turned off, and then turned back on the flow in question
  3. Reset the "Connection" user, just incase something funky was going on there. 


No, the list name hasnt changed. Nothing significant has changed to the list. I havent modified the flow (outside of the connection user stuff). It simply went from perfect to garbage. Has anyone else experianced this, or can a mod/admin tell me a solution? I've done everything I can think of short of deleting the flow and starting from scratch, but I dont want to go through all that trouble and it still not work. It took forever to write, because I have several versions of HTML emails going on...

Modern app lists should be supported, so I don't think it is that. We've been trying but have been unable to repro this across the different browsers you reported. The fact that the pane does not even open leads me (and a SharePoint dev) to think that something is going wrong on their side.

It's interesting, I've been working at a large corporate (40,000 users) who have a direct relationship with Microsoft for licensing their Office 365 subscriptions.


A couple of months of solid Flow authoring and not one untriggered Flow.  Performance reasonably zippy too.


Yet while dealing with SME's supplied with Office 365 tenancies through the CSP channel, nothing but recurring issues with untriggered Flow, slow performance, and the usual rubbish support from MS.


Does Microsoft have a "One rule for the corporates and direct sales, and one rule for the SME's and partners" thing going on?  A privileged corner of the data centre estate for the direct sales team, and pile of electronic mediocrity for the channel?


So much for Satya's "channel first" strategy.  Going the way of "mobile first"?

Same issue here, one flow just wont trigger, whenever I check the run history, it just shows 202 as the return value.

please provide more details - Is the flow not picking up updates? 202 basically means there were no changes detected on the site list.  If you can email me the URL of the flow in your browswer + few detaisl, I can help look . Email rajra AT




I have been working with an engineer on this - seems it is a bug. To be specific, the bug is that Flows do not trigger when using Modern Apps (Contacts, for example). If you are having an issue with a regular list, check your connections and/or try creating a new connection.

Now if I make a completely new flow with the same trigger referencing the same list it will trigger when I make the change to the list but my original flow does not trigger.


I am just using a normal list, I have re-made all the connections but that did not help.

I've noticed this before as well. When I want to create the same flow for different lists I can't just copy the flow and switch the lists and all the inputs, I have to create an entirely new flow otherwise it fails.

We have found the issue and made a fix so that any modern list will be able to use this feature. It will be rolling out to production during the week of July 23rd latest. Thank you for reporting it and your patience!
