Flow not Triggering (Sharepoint Modified)

I have a flow that is connected to a large, heavily used Sharepoint O365 List. Up until late last week (I believe it was 5/25/17 around 2:30pm-ish), it worked like a dream. 100% success.

The flow is designed to pick up modified items, do a check against a "Status" field, and based on that, either send an email or skip. Due to the fact that I'm statusing, and on each status change I save the item, it kicks off multiple flows per item. I have 3 statuses, New, In Progress, and Completed. When it gets moved to Completed, it sends the emails.

Like I said, up until last Thursday, it worked like a dream. It would trigger on both in progress and completed, and run the whole flow on completed. A+. Well, silly ol' me introduced a second, smaller workflow on the same list to test something, as opposed to messing with my perfect child. Thats when the problems started.

I noticed my new flow only triggered about 2/3rds of the time. It would detect the "In Progress" save, but then never detect the "Completed" save. It wasnt erroring out, flows just was NOT triggering. Unfortunately, the trend has spread to my heavily used email workflow.

To get a sample size, I scrolled through my email to see what my sent box looked like. In 2 days and a few hours this morning, there have been a total of 337 items "Completed". Of those 337, ONLY 215 have triggered on the modify containing the "Completed". Thats a 64% success rate folks. Thats TERRIBLE

Here is what I have done to troubleshoot so far:

  1. Deleted the second, smaller flow
  2. Turned off, and then turned back on the flow in question
  3. Reset the "Connection" user, just incase something funky was going on there.

No, the list name hasnt changed. Nothing significant has changed to the list. I havent modified the flow (outside of the connection user stuff). It simply went from perfect to garbage. Has anyone else experianced this, or can a mod/admin tell me a solution? I've done everything I can think of short of deleting the flow and starting from scratch, but I dont want to go through all that trouble and it still not work. It took forever to write, because I have several versions of HTML emails going on...

Excellent, thanks - please let us know when fixed so we can try again.

Hi,

@v-yamao-msft does this issue also applies to the created trigger? In our case both, SharePoint Modified and SharePoint Created, triggers are not working at all. Flow does not even log something in the run history.

Hi All,

The fix for the issue has been rolled out. I test this on my side and it is working fine. Please try it on your side and let us know if you are still seeing issues.

Best regards,
Mabel Mao

Hi Mabel!

I'll have to monitor this for a bit to make sure it's working as intended, but so far it's looking good!

Thank you for the speedy fix!

Hi Mabel!

I checked back all to first thing Monday morning, and my flow has been working at 100% capacity again.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Now, not one of my flows are working, all of them interact with SharePoint in some manner.  The triggers haven't fired for on create or on updated for about 24 hours now.  Did this fix actually cause more issues?

Same here - still having issues that the created or modified triggers are not fired.

Hi @inthisidrown@Adrian_Chrobok

None of the two triggers work on your side? Do you get any error messages?

Could you provide the URL of your Flow? You could get it when editing the flow.

If possible, please also provide your site/list information for a further investigation.

Best regards,
Mabel Mao

Hi @v-yamao-msft,

Unfortunately none of the both are working. Flows with this triggers which are working fine before the 1st of June are now not working at all. For testing purposes I created now a new Flow with the same trigger and just a "send an email" action and I'm getting this after saving it for the first time:

Whats very courious: between the 1st and the 2nd of June all of our Flows were edited at the same time, but noby of my team has done any modifications. Sind this time, the - as already mentioned - previosly nicely worked Flows are no longer working. The fact, that not even a failure or something else is logged into the Run History is also very interesting ...

Screenshot is from the 2nd of June - luckily the most important and only Flow with none of the both triggers is still working Smiley Wink

Hi @v-yamao-msft

I've done some testing this morning and found the following...

SharePoint list #1 with a "modify" flow previously not triggering when some of the columns were modified. However made 10 changes to various fields and all now behaving as expected.

SharePoint list #2 with seperate "create" and "modify" flows both which sends emails. I've recorded the times which the flows ran and the emails were received below. As you can see two of the modify flows were only triggered when a subsequent change was made (#6 and #10).

 Create FlowCreate EmailModify FlowModify Email
List item #4 created 10:1510:1510:1510:1510:15

Thanks
