SharePoint Created By Email returns no value

Hello,

I use a SharePoint - file is created or modified (properties only) trigger for my flow. I want to send email to the creator of the SP item that was created/modified. The OOB Created By Mail option returns no value, resulting in a Bad Request on the Send Email step. Using last(split(...[Author]?[Claims])) is a workaround, but please check what is wrong with the OOB function.

Hi @IvoYan,

According to your description, I assume that you want to send an email to user who created or modified the file.

I am not sure why you are using variables in your flow. Have you tried to you use the dynamic content Created by email or Modified by email in the To field? These two dynamic contents will return email address for the creator.

To test this issue, I created a flow likes below:

1.PNG

Please take a try with it and feel free reply if you need more help.

Hello @v-yamao-msft,

I re-tested this both ways - with variable and without - I confirm now it works OK both ways.

Best Regards!
