Taxonomy Managed Metadata fields are emptied whenever a SharePoint Update List Item action is used.

I was excited to start building a new approval process in Flow, but I came across a game breaking bug. If you have a list with a populated MMD field, and you run the SharePoint Update List Item action, even though the MMD fields don't even show in the action, the fields are emptied of their value after the action runs.

Re: Taxonomy Managed Metadata fields are emptied whenever a SharePoint Update List Item action is us

Hi levijohnson,

Thanks for feedback. I can reproduce this issue on my side.

To test this issue, I create a list which has a Managed Metadata column.

Then create a simple flow with the action “SharePoint – Update item” which is triggered by a Button.

The flow’s configuration likes below:

There is no field for the Managed Metadata column in the action “Update item”, as currently this column type has not been supported yet.

Though I don’t specify a value for the columns “hyperlink” and “PrchaseComment”, the value I entered before in the list are not emptied after the flow runs. While the value for the Managed metadata column is emptied.

I will report this issue on my side and back to you after I got any updates.

Best regards,
Mabel Mao

That's great, thank you! If this is going to be addressed soon, I may hold out to use flow. Please let me know if you have any possible ETA.
