Trigger when a new email is received processes emails from the last time the flow was on

Trigger when a new email is received processes emails from the last time the flow was on

Kind of a weird scenario, potentially this isn't a bug and is intended, but I found myself surprised by the behavior.

Scenario:

1. Created a Cloud flow to trigger when new email is received, worked well - many trophies. Flow on and running for a bit.

2. Turn flow off as no longer processing emails intentionally as 'registration' has closed.

3. Alter flow logic below trigger to change the behavior of the flow - but still want it to process new emails

4. Turn flow back on to process emails for new 'registration' begins - immediate over api threshold bc instead of processing emails after the turn-on event forward, it is processing emails since the last time the flow had been turned on (which was several hundred emails that were purposefully not processed due to registration being closed)

This was absolutely not the expected behavior, nor could I find that behavior documented anywhere. But maybe I missed it?

Thanks for reading
