I am trying to use flow to update some of the calender event to set the reminder to None, looks like a none reminder comes from a trigger shows as null, but I could not set the reminder field of update event v2 action to null or none in anyway.
null value in function 'null' string null object variable -1
all didn't work.
I guess the field only takes integers and will convert other value types.
But as I know the o365 outlook API could accept null as reminder value and will parse it as none-reminder, I really hope that the reminder field could take null or none as a reminder value.
I have made some tests on my side. As you mentioned, the None reminder returns null in a flow, but it is not possible to update a null value via flow to the Calendar.
Then I tried to enter value -1 in the Reminder field, which worked and the Reminder can be updated to None in the Calendar.
Please take the following screenshot for a reference and try it on your side.
Thanks for the reply.
I am not sure which version of outlook you are using, but -1 does not work for office 365/office 2016, if I set reminder of an event to -1, it can not be opened in outlook calender anymore.
I tried this and not only does it still pop up the reminder as soon as the event is created...but then the event in Outlook won't open...says it has an error on it.
Hi all. This is a frustrating issue to not have consistency accross implementations. It appears there is at least a request in the ideas forum to implement a "none-Reminders" setting to make this consistently reliable. Perhaps visit there and see if this request meets your needs and then upvote as I did and... hope?
I saw somewhere that it was on the list of "upcoming updates" but that was from about a year ago...so it must not be too high on the list. I think this feature is practically useless until they resolve that. I'm going to the Microsoft Summit in a a couple of weeks and for sure plan on mentioning this to a few people at Microsoft to see if it is even on their radar.
That, and the ability to sort your Flows...I don't understand why that feature should even be asked for. When you have 50 plus flows....sorting is a must! I spend 5 min or more scrolling up and down looking for one when I have a modification to make!
My workaround for things that I would use this for is I use flow to put them on a SPList instead and then built several powerapps that have the calendar view so if they are wanting to see a specific calendar (Production Calendar, Shipping Calendar, etc.)..they open that view in PowerApps instead of Outlook.
