Account Entity Not Showing Related Child Entities Activity Records

Hi All

I have been trying to get my Account entity to show Activities that are related to its child entity.   This should be possilbe by setting the appropriate relationship as 'Parental' and selecting the Cascade All option for the settings of the relationship.  Whenever I go to the Account entity and select the Related Activities menu option and set the 'Include Related' toggle switch to 'On' - I get a circled X and SQL Server Error message text within the grid that is supposed to show the Open Activitiy Associated View.     Also if I type something into the Search box on the same related activities form - the SQL Error reports back with error code: 0x80044150 SQL Server Error

Can someone suggest what I am doing wrong with this, the steps to show activities from child entities in a parent Account entity are simple so don't quite understand why this is not working in CDS.

Thanks in advance.

I raised this with Microsoft support and their response is that Activity rollup is not supported in CDS environments and there isn't an immediate timeframe to implement it.  Instead they will be removing the "include related" button so the SQL error can't be produced/shown to the user.

The activity rollup is only available in a Dynamics environment.

Thanks for finding this out Andy_Eight.

Dear Microsoft,

This is a dissapointing outcome for us, the feature itself in terms of it's underlyig technical architecture should be a generic feature.  So I cannot understand why the feature is only avlialbe in Dynamics and not CDS.  It is not even a specific feature that is related to the Dynamics modules by any appearance and should be added to CDS especially as most people when assessing the product will run into Dynamics documentation that implies that you can do this.  I suspect you could easily do this in other low code platforms and probably in something as simple as MS Access.

Please close this down, as "feature NOT available" despite being advertised.

WOW. What a horrendous response by Microsoft.
