Common Data Service import issue

I am just trying to import data into a new entity I created. When I click "Import data" I just get a blank screen. (Image attached.) This is the result when trying to import data to other entities in the same CDL as well, and has been tested by others with different permissions levels to no avail. Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

 

Note: "Open in Excel" works fine, but "Export data" and "Export template" both give an error message of "This export service is not available". I do not need the export functions, but I can only assume the issue with importing is likely related.

Where is there a "publish" option?

(I only started using PowerApps and the CDS two days ago)

Hi @Boneckrh19,

 

The Publish button is part of the CDS add in for Excel, get it installed to your Excel from Insert > My Addins > Store > Search for "PowerApps"

 

Then when you Open in Excel an Entity the right hand pane that pops up in that excel workbook is the CDS add in, in which you wil lsee the data from your Entity. at first, you need to refresh, then changes you makein excel when Published are sent to CDS instantly.

 

Note you can add more entities to your workbook from the gear button in the addin, select the design mode, then youcan add more entities.

Note handling data via this add in isnt so much straight forward, so i suggest you play with it before you consider real data. I dont mean to terrify you but there are things like you cant publish until you clear all filters, also the look up field is 2 columns not 1, and the copy means copying 2 fields not 1. etc

 

 

Finally, you will fall in love with CDS i promise! Welcome onboard..

I have made a test on my side and don't have the issue that you mentioned. The GIF screenshot as below:Test1.gif

 

 

More details about importing and exporting data from PowerApps Common Data Service, please check the following article:

Please take a try to clear cache of your browser, and then try it again within PowerApps, check if the issue is solved.

 

In addition, I also agree with @Yahya's thought almost. You could consider take a try to click "Open in Excel" option within your CDS entity, and then within the downloaded Excel file, add a "Microsoft PowerApps Office Add-In" add-in (Insert option-> Store->Search "Microsoft PowerApps Office Add-In" add-in):2.JPG

 

After that, you could inert data within the Excel file, and then click "Publish" buton to save your inserted data into youe CDS entity.3.JPG

It was an issue on the backend with Microsoft. There were absolutely no problems when I tried it the next day. Thanks for all the suggestions though.
