Dataverse Choice Column in Excel via Odata

I am using Dataverse table in Excel through the Odata connection. One of the columns (Project State) is a Choice column in Dataverse which shows the ID (twelve digit number) of the choice item rather than the label ("NY").

I need to use the label rather than the ID. I tried to load the choice column as a separate Odata table, but that does not seem to be an option. I'm sure I could make a simple table linking the ID to the value, but I have this situation elsewhere and would like to resolve it in a way that does not cause me to create a separate table manually.

Hi @powerwood,

That's the default behavior with the standard OData connection since choice columns are stored as integer values in the tables. Have you tried using the Power Apps Office/Excel add-in? It's pretty good and allows you to select directly the label instead of the values. To open it, in make.powerapps.com, navigate to Data -> Tables -> select your table then click the "Edit data in Excel" button. The excel will download, once opened the add-in will appear on the right, login in with the same credentials if it ask you.

More info on the add-in: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/data-platform/data-platform-excel-addin

Hope this helps!
