Dataverse for Teams capacity planning

Is there any information on the amount of storage in GB that a Dataverse in Teams app might consume? Prior to building a solution on the platform, it's important to know what the short and long term costs are going to be, but there doesn't seem to be any translation of datatypes, record counts, and metadata, to storage. Does the configuration of the app take up storage space as well?

It is frustrating to have the tools to move your organization forward, but not the information to know if the org can afford to use the tools.

As per the documentation it says 2GB of combined database and file storage, with a portion of this amount reserved for system use.

I have seen it usually takes 25% of capacity or 512 MB when you create a new MS Teams environment. ( without any apps in it)

Hi @gmcanally,

Although Dataverse for Teams is lighter than standard Dataverse, it's safe to assume that out-of-the-box vanilla Dataverse takes around 1GB of space and it comes with about 66 entities besides the other core functionality and business logic (processes, plugins, etc). Beyond that, the storage can be estimated similar to SQL Server for the tables. See this previous post.

You can see more insights on capacity in the Admin center: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/capacity-storage#environment-capacity-analytic...

Hope this helps!
