Flow activated from a Model-driven app does not contain option-set label

Hi, this could be a power automate issue but let me post my question here.

I created a flow that a user is able to run from a model-driven app (https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/User-activated-Flow-from-model-driven-app/m-...).  The flow simply send to Team's channel a couple of important fields that the user wants team members to know.

One of the field called bs_property_status is OptionSet type.  I've read the following instruction - https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Common-Data-Service-for-Apps/I-want-using-Option-Set-field-choos...

and also used the following expression:

  • triggerBody()?['entity']?['_bs_property_status_label']
  • item()?['_bs_property_status_label']

but neither works properly.  The output of the message as far as I can see from the logging is not shown

I can see the "When a record is selected" trigger has the following schema.

I have a doubt that for some reason the flow that ran from model drive doesn't contain option-set label at first place.  Can someone please help to shed some light on here?

Frequently the trigger steps like when a record is selected, when a record is updated, etc do not contain all of the fields. Try doing a get record after the trigger and getting the full details of the record.

That said, Option Set labels are not always easy to get. There is an approach using an HTTP request, but it is kind of convoluted. https://www.encorebusiness.com/blog/power-automate-get-option-set-text-with-child-flow/

An alternative is to use the Power BI Option Set assistant in the XrmToolBox (xrmtoolbox.com). This basically creates a xref entity with your option set values from which you can retrieve the value with your flow or power BI reports https://www.catapulterp.com/power-bi-option-set-assistant-d365/#:~:text=A%20better%20way%20is%20to,i...

@jlindstrom I used Get record trigger to get the full details of the record. works like a charm... thank you for your reply.
