Forms

Hello

I am very new to Dataverse and am just starting to self-learn. I have created a Dataverse and three tables. I have also created a form to help me [initially] enter date for testing. However, when I choose a table within Solutions>My DataVerse and then choose Data, Add Record, the form I created does not appear - a pre-created form comes up. I can't see when to change this.

thank you

Hi @Lilywhite63 ,

Normally if you are creating new tables, it will create 3 forms for you automatically and I would start with those forms, the "main" form type specifically.  Although if the form is active you should have the availability to switch to your form with the down arrow next to the form name on the form.  See example below from Account screen:

Hope this helps.  Please accept if answers your question or Like if helps in any way.

Thanks,

Drew

Hi @Lilywhite63 ,

While adding new form I hope you have selected as main form. Once it has been configured make sure to save and publish.

While adding data you can see all main forms available for that entity in the list.

If you want your form to appear on top, you can change form order from form settings. Always save and publish your changes to reflect.

I hope it answers your question. Kindly give kudo and accept it as solution.

Regards,

Prakash

Hi @Lilywhite63,

As a tip, if the tables you created are custom and not out-of-the-box, try editing the main "Information" form instead of creating a new ones. If you absolutely need a new one and that is the primary form, you need to set that form as a default form, as fallback form and set it as the first form (for order), and check if you need to assign roles to the form.

Set fallback form: https://docs.microsoft.com/powerapps/maker/model-driven-apps/control-access-forms#set-the-fallback-f...

Set form order: https://docs.microsoft.com/powerapps/maker/model-driven-apps/control-access-forms#set-the-form-order

You can also deactivate the other "Information" form if don't need it. Furthermore, don't forget to select that form in your model-drvien app.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Lilywhite63 ,

When you Open the entity forms, the default form will be shown up first.  As @EricRegnier  previously stated, whichever form you want to show up first, make that form as the default then save and publish it. Check it after refreshing your app.

Hello,

Form is a data-driven configuration that collects data in the portal without the need for a developer to surface the form in the portal.

Forms are created in Microsoft data verse. You can use them in webpages in the portal or in conjunction with lists to build out complete web applications.

@Lilywhite63- Looks like you've got some good solutions, but here's a short video that goes over the basics of forms in a Model-driven app: https://youtu.be/IpuztObUNDM.
