We are up and running in PowerApps using the On Premise Gateway.
Next thing we want to accomplish is connect the NAV data table (SQL table) via the On Premise Gateway to a custom defined CDS table.
We discovered this URL in how to, be we cannot follow the steps i.e. we do not know how.
URL: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/common-data-service/data-platform-cds-newentity-pq
Can you help us with this and possibly as soon as possible?
Would be nice to see an answer to this please, it is one of the first hits in a web-search.
Hi @dannyhellemons.
Can you share with what steps in creating a dataflow to load data into CDS are you are having trouble with?
In PowerApps.com, you should be able to locate the Dataflows tab. When you create a new dataflow, the first step would be to give it a name, and then, select the data source to get data from. In select data source screen, select "SQL Server database" data source and the next screen will be asked for the connection details. This is where you should be able to provide the details of the gateway, in the "Connection credentials" section the On-Premise data gateway you have installed. (See attached image) If you cannot see the gateway you installed in the drop-down list, then you should follow these steps to make sure its been set up correctly in the PowerApps environment.
How to setup and manage a gateway:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/gateway-management
Please note that the gateway must be Installed in standard mode because the on-premises data gateway (personal mode) is available only for Power BI.
