Microsoft Dataverse and Sharepoint Online BDC

I was reading the following info about ODATA query for Microsoft Dataverse when it got me thinking... Could this be used with SharePoint BDC (Business Data Connectivity)? When SharePoint was OnPrem I used BDC a bunch to pull data from SQL. Moving to Online, these options are limited. I already have some Dataflows setup that are pulling onPrem data into our Dataverse to be used with some PowerApps but it would be cool\useful to be able to use some of this same data as simple metadata tags in SharePoint through the BDC.

I don't think BDC is available in SharePoint Online.

It is but can only handle ODATA and Azure SQL sources
