Power Apps Information

Hello, I am a newbie in power platform..

I want to build PowerApps  and hence looking for Power App environment possibilities.  

Could anyone kindly help with the needed information regarding => 

1. What are the licenses that I need to procure to avail the same ?

2. What would be the probable cost for those licenses & environments? 

3. Can I share the web app build using Power App to my colleague who only have 'Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise' & 'Microsoft 365 E3' license but not any Power BI Pro/Premium ? 

4.If I want to consume Dataverse features of Power Apps, will that also be additionally chargeable? Also, if I use Dataverse features within our app, then can our app be shared to other colleague who are not having any Power 

BI Pro/Premium license (only having Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise & Microsoft 365 E3) ?

It will be really helpful if I get the detail information on the above points.

Hi @Minakshi,

1. What are the licenses that I need to procure to avail the same ?
It depends what data sources you are using. Are you using standard connectors (e.g. SharePoint), or premium connectors (e.g. Dataverse, SQL Server). Power Apps that comes with M365 subscriptions gives you access to build and use Power Apps using standard connectors. To use premium connectors, you need to get a Power Apps paid licensing which could be a Per App plan, Per User Plan, or apply a Pay As You Go plan to a Power Apps environment.

2. What would be the probable cost for those licenses & environments? 

It depends on which type of licenses you need based on the features you require. Here is the listing prices for Power Apps. Prices will likely be cheaper if you have an Enterprise Agreement (EA) with Microsoft.

3. Can I share the web app build using Power App to my colleague who only have 'Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise' & 'Microsoft 365 E3' license but not any Power BI Pro/Premium ? 

Again, depends on what data sources you are using (standard vs premium). Microsoft 365 E3 gives you access to Power Apps using standard connectors. Power BI licensing is completely separate from Power Apps and does not give you any entitlement to Power Apps.

4.If I want to consume Dataverse features of Power Apps, will that also be additionally chargeable? Also, if I use Dataverse features within our app, then can our app be shared to other colleague who are not having any Power 

BI Pro/Premium license (only having Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise & Microsoft 365 E3) ?

Dataverse is a premium connector and requires users to have a Power Apps Per App plan, Per User Plan, or a Pay As You Go plan assigned to the Power Apps environment. Again, Power BI licensing is separate and doesn't provide entitlement to Power Apps.

I have few more questions->
1.If I integrate the Power Apps from Power Bi Service, Will it fall under Standard Connector? 
2.Can I share the App with other user which are not listed in Azure AD?
3. If I avail Premium per user license, Can I use the AI builder features?
4. If I am not using premium connector, Can I still use AI Builder features for Apps?
5. Is it mandatory to have dedicated environment to use AI Builder Features?

Hi @Minakshi,

   As long as the Power App itself is only using standard connectors, yes.

2.Can I share the App with other user which are not listed in Azure AD?

  You can share a Power App with a Guest user. More details are documented here.

3. If I avail Premium per user license, Can I use the AI builder features?

 Yes, you get a certain amount of AI Builder credits for per user or per app licenses. Refer to the licensing guide for more details.

4. If I am not using premium connector, Can I still use AI Builder features for Apps?

Yes, you can also purchase AI Builder add-on capacity that is pooled at your tenant level and are not user specific. More details here.

5. Is it mandatory to have dedicated environment to use AI Builder Features?

If you purchase AI Builder add-on capacity for your tenant, administrators can allocate the credits across any number of environments as they see fit. AI Builder credits that come with per user licenses do not need to be specifically assigned to an environment. More details here.
