Retrieving full image from cds/dataverse is buggy/inconsistent

I have an canvas app that stores image (signatures) onto data verse that has a column that stores images.

My problem is it seems very buggy whenever I try to retrieve the image in Full size:
image.png

This is currently stored in a global variable.

Sometimes it would load the full image and sometimes it wouldn't. But, Value seems to be working all the time but I can't use it since it is cutoff at the beginning.

Any have any idea what is going on? I don't think I had this issue until recently. I feel like there was changes made and it messed something up.

Hi @MrEdward ,

I suggest you use this way:

Add a button control to save full image:

ClearCollect(Col,Text(First(TestL12).Test_Image.Full))

Add an image control and set its Image property to:

First(Col).Value

Hi @v-xiaochen-msft ,

I tried that method but its also buggy. It only shows sometimes.

I checked the test collection I created with your formula and there is value in there but the actual image is not showing - its almost as it doesn't exist.

Hi @MrEdward ,

I think the best way is to directly use the full value of the image column of an item instead of saving them into a collection.

Hi @v-xiaochen-msft ,

Currently, the app loads the data from dataverse by filtering to specific record and stores into a global variable.

With that said, do you mind providing an example of what you mean by "directly use full value of the image column"?

Say the table name is "TestTable" on Dataverse.

Thanks

Hi @MrEdward ,

For example:

If you have a table named 'TestTable' and it has an image column 'Test_Image'.

If you want to display the image of the first item on the image control, you could use this formula:

First(TestTable).Test_Image.Full

instead of saving them in a global variable or a collection.

Hi @v-xiaochen-msft ,

Funny thing, I just opened the app again today and for whatever reason, it seems to be working fine now.

Do you know if there has been any change since I opened this post? I know I didn't change anything on my app.

If it breaks again, I will try your method and see if it works.

Thanks,

Edward
