URL with friendly Name Dataverse CDS

Hello,

Is it not possible to use a friendly name when building Model Driven Apps using Dataverse fields?  I have tested the URL field and this seems to just be a text field allowing you to capture the full URL which does work when clicking however is silly looking to have to see this in  your solutions rather than a friendly name like the name of the project, name of the contact, etc.  I have tested using some HTML and this does not work either and just displays the code.

<a href="https://google.com">URL Name</a>

And here is the URL field being displayed in Dynamics 365.  Sure would be nice to use a friendly name.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi @Dudditz,

Unfortunately out-of-the-box URL text fields/columns displays the full URL and no way to have a friendly name.  There are some open source PCF controls to do that though in https://pcf.gallery/. For instance: https://pcf.gallery/custom-url-control/ . You can install the control and use it for your URL field.

Hope this helps!

Hi Eric, Thank you for your feedback.  I will proceed with testing out a PCF control to fill the requirement.
